Porcelain Stoneware vs. White-Body Ceramic Wall Tiles: Which Should You Choose for Floors and Walls?

Learn when to use porcelain stoneware (floors, outdoors, and walls) and when to choose rectified white-body ceramic (lightweight wall cladding for bathrooms and kitchens).

1. Porcelain Stoneware: All-rounder for floors, walls, and outdoors

Porcelain stoneware is fired at temperatures near 1,200 °C using refined clays and feldspars, achieving extreme density (water absorption E ≤ 0.5% under ISO 10545-3). Thanks to its high flexural and impact strength, it is essential for indoor and outdoor flooring and can also be installed on walls.

2. White-Body Ceramic: The specialist for bathroom and kitchen walls

White-body ceramic is engineered specifically for interior wall cladding. Because it is lighter and easier to drill than porcelain, it makes installing shower screens, concealed faucets, floating vanities, and bathroom accessories much faster and safer for installers.

White-body ceramic also enables pure luminous whites and 3D relief textures (herringbone, waves, fluted slats) at a highly competitive price per square meter (starting from 11.12 €/m² on Pallet rate).
